7 Differences

Many people say you’ll find love when you find someone just like you. Someone who likes the same things as you, has the same hobbies, someone who has the same goal in life. Sorry, but I don’t agree.

I don’t think love has to do with opinions, goals, or whatever. Love is a feeling (now it’s when scientifics kill me, and say love is a chemical reaction… okay, okay…), and therefore love has to be with feelings. If you feel happy when you are with that person, if you feel special when you are with that person, if you feel safe and confident with that person, and most important, if you LOVE that person, then you have found love. It doesn’t matter if he/she has different opinions of yours, it doesn’t matter if he/she (but mostly “he”) loves football and you don’t. What it matters is that he/she will be there for you. He/she will listen and take care of you. Always. And THAT’s true love (of course both of you have to share some basic points of view: killing is bad, being a terrorist is bad… you know, the typical things).

So, I’m fed up of people thinking Jimmy and I love the same things and share the same points of view. We don’t. We love each other. We take care of each other. We enjoy being together. But we are different. Fortunately, we both think killing is bad, and fortunately, neither of us is a terrorist (which is something basic, you know). And we share some dreams and goals. But we are different.

7 things Jimmy and Chloe don’t share:

1) I love peaceful computer games, such as The Sims 3. Jimmy, however, prefers computer games involving guns, martial arts or war.

2) I LOVE movies like Meet the Parents or The Proposal, while Jimmy hates them and enjoys Alien vs. Predator (Ugh!) or Terminator (how can anyone enjoy that?????? Robots, robots, monsters, robots… And I’m afraid of all of them!!! I can’t watch a movie if I’m hiding behind my Doritos bag!).

3) I hate CSI Miami, because I HATE Horatio Caine! And Jimmy LOVES it! and LOVES him! (I prefer Ghost Whisperer…)

4) I’m very impatient. If I want something to happen, I want it NOW. Jimmy, on the contrary, is the most patient person I’ve ever met. And that drives me crazy!!

5) I love blogging, Facebook, Twitter… Jimmy finds them a waste of time. That’s why I’m still waiting for a guest post written by Jimmy…

6) I love taking photos, GOOD photos!! And Jimmy gets bored when I bring my camera with me and start taking pictures of everything. Maybe I have Japanese ancestors!

7) Jimmy loves sport, mainly soccer… I fall asleep when we he’s watching a soccer game.

And so on.

But despite all this, I LOVE Jimmy. I LOVE Jimmy sooo much! And maybe our differences make our life more interesting 🙂

Unless there’s a soccer game…

Maybe we have found it

After two crazy weeks, I think we have found our future house. That’s why I couldn’t write many posts (or any at all)…

But now we can relax. We don’t have to worry until the end of September. Why? Because the bank manager (who is our friend) is on vacation, the owner is on vacation and in September WE are on vacation. So we’ll sign everything at the end of September or at the beginning of October. YAY!

And since I know you love posts with pictures… Jimmy took some photos of the house!

All these are BEFORE photos. Once we sign all the documents, I’ll post the AFTER photos. And all the process: furniture, paint, all kind of improvements and changes…

Oh, here is some information about the house:

  • big living room
  • kitchen
  • 3 bathrooms
  • 3 bedrooms
  • porch
  • backyard
  • garage for two cars
  • air conditioning

Now you know I’m still alive! 😉 And we’ve found our future house!!

Castillo de las Guardas

Sooo sweet!! I want a pet bear!

Sooo sweet!! I want a pet bear!

So. Jimmy and I decided to have a day off and go to see a wonderful nature park, called Reserva del Castillo de las Guardas*. And we had a great time taking photos to all the animals we found! Bears, zebras, ostriches, emus, lions, tigers, elephants, rhinos, goats… And I’m so proud we could take good photos of those animals!! I mean, look at this picture!! This bear looks so cute!!

Here you have some pictures:

I thought it was a llama... but it is called guanaco. Okay...

I dont know what it is, but those horns arent my friends... I panicked when a red-dressed woman decided to get close and touch them.

Fish! Yum yum!

Fish! Yum yum!

And then, we found a swimming pool there! So we swam and had fun! It was a perfect day!

Unfortunately, I think I brought a little of nature into my home and right now I’m hunting and killing all the ants that invaded my bedroom! They are thousands and thousands!!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

* That park is near our MAYBE future house!

One of the happiest days of my life

Today has been one of the happiest days of my life. And the responsible is this one:

Jimmy!

Jimmy!

Thanks Jimmy for that huge hug, thouse beautiful words and that sweet kiss. You made me smile. You made me feel the luckiest woman in the world.

I love you.

My in-laws

Although Jimmy and I aren’t married (yet), I know his parents as my in-laws. And I thought I should introduce them to you, since they are an important part of my life. And Jimmy’s life, of course. I spend a lot of time at their house. I work there as a private teacher two days a week. I teach English, French and Spanish to their little neighbours. And then I have lunch with them on Sundays. So they are already my family. Even though there aren’t any legal bonds yet.

Well, let’s start. First of all, a picture.

Jimmy and his parents

Jimmy and his parents

Oops. My father-in-law is going to kill me. I better upload a better picture…

I think here he is better

I think he is better in this picture

As you can see my mother-in-law just LOVES me. She loves everyone, I think. But she loves me as her daughter. I’m very lucky. Our relationship is great. I really love her. Not as my mother, of course. But she has all my love and support. She is gossip, as my mother. But apart from that, she is quite different. And she is quite different to her husband. My father-in-law {who is quite different from me…  but we try to forget our differences}. She loves cooking {she is a great cook!! I love everything she cooks}. He’s indifferent. She loves classic music. He loves popular songs. She plays the piano {she’s a piano teacher}. He used to play the guitar. She loves foreign languages. He hates them. She loves France, Paris and French. He hates everything related to French or France.  He loves England. She loves dogs. He loves cats. She loves her sisters. He is an only child. She loves soccer. He hates it.  She’s always laughing. He’s a serious man. And I could go on… As you can see they are quite different!! But they love each other. And it’s cute. It’s cute and sweet seeing how much they love each other. They’re still in love after so many years of marriage. I admire them. I’ve learned a lot from them. I wish Jimmy and I had half the love my in-laws have when we are their age. They are just the best example to follow for young couples. I’m so happy for them!!

Answering your questions

Thanks for your comments! I’ll be answering your questions in the same order as you wrote them.

What has been your favourite trip you’ve ever taken? Where do you want to go most right now? .- Camille {Archives of Our Lives}

My favourite trip. Humm. I think my best trip was when I stayed for almost a month in France. I loved it. I REALLY loved it. I stayed in Paris, living with a French family. It was like a dream {for those who are as romantic as I am}.

Paris

Paris

The Eiffel Tower (La Tour Eiffel), the Seine, the Louvre Museum, the Quartier Latin, the Basilica of Sacré Coeur, Notre Dame Cathedral, L’Arch du Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, Place de Vendôme…

… And the older SON of the French family. Oh. My. God. I remember I thought he was the best French monument {I hope Jimmy doesn’t read that!}. One of the greatest moment of this trip was when I saw him walking naked toward the bathroom {I was in a state of shock}. But… Je suis désolée. I’m sorry! I don’t have pictures of him!!! It’s a pity…

And right now… I want to go to the USA. That’s my dream. Seriously. I’ve heard so many things, I’ve studied American History, I’ve seen so many things in pictures… Now I want to see them with my own eyes. So maybe in the near future…

Now Ratalie’s turn {EverybodyNose}:

How old were you when you got your first kiss?
Who was it?
How’d it happen?

How did you and Jimmy meet?
What’s something funny about the two of you?
Does he have an random quirks that drive you crazy? That you love?
Do you have any?

Wow! I like so many questions! 😀

Believe or not, I got my first kiss when I was 4. I wanted some fries, and a friend of mine was eating fries. I wanted HIS fries. So he said if I wanted his fries, I would have to kiss him. He thought I was a coward. Ha!! I wanted HIS fries, no matter what. So “smack”. I kissed him. And then I said: “Give me your fries”. And he did, with a flushed red face and his mouth wide open. Too embarrasing, I know. But when I was a kid, I would have done ANYTHING for some fries. And I did.

Yummy!

Yummy!

Jimmy and I met on a bus. On my way home, after one of my first days in college. He sat next to me. And we started to talk. It was like we were old friends. We had a great time on that bus. And some months later we made it official.

Something funny?? Humm. When he asked me out, and being his girlfriend, I lol. Then I said yes, but before I bursted out laughing. I was so nervous… I think it was my own way to relax. Does it answer your question?

Jimmy’s quirks? I don’t think it’s a quirk, but I love his smile. And I love when he mimics famous people. Or when he puts this face:

If Jimmy puts this face, something wrong happens...

If Jimmy puts this face, something wrong happens...

ME?? I think I’m ADORABLE when I shout “GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY FOOD!!!”, if someone steals my food… Or worst: my fries!

And now Maureen {A chronicle of my world travels}:

How did you decide to become a translator? What is your favorite language that you have learned and why?

Also, what made you decide to get a ferret and how long have you had him? Ferrets are not really common pets here, as far as I know. Do many people have them in Spain?

Okay. I didn’t decide to become a translator, to be honest. I wanted to study English. I loved, I love and I’ll love English. I don’t know why. My parents wanted me to study sciences. And as foreign language, French. So I did the opposite. I wanted to be an English teacher. But my father persuaded me to study Translation. He said it had more jobs opportunities. Humm. I think I’ll end up as an English teacher, anyway.

My favourite language is English. But I also love French. Can’t explain why they are my favourite. I don’t know the answer. Sorry!

Ferrets: In Spain they aren’t really common either. Every time I go for a walk with Stitch, everyone asks me what kind of animal it is. They don’t even know what it is!! Can you imagine? I decided to buy a ferret, because of my parents. I wanted a pet. My parents and my brother have a pet: a cockatiel. And I hate it. I found it unfair. I wanted a pet too. I wanted a dog, but they said NO. But they said I could have a small animal, which lives in a cage. I had a horrible experience with a killer rabbit when I was 10. So that wasn’t an option. And my mother hates hamster or guinea pigs. So I said “a ferret!”. And I have him since last december!

Jaime= James; James=…

So some days ago I published a post about my great Saturday. And then I received a comment written by someone called “Jaime”. And I thought “who is Jaime?“, “do I know him?“, and my reasoning followed “if his name is Jaime, then he must be from a South American country or from Spain“… And then I found out who Jaime was.

And how did I know who he was? Simple. Jaime is James in English, and in English other name for James is Jim or Jimmy, right? So… Don’t get it? My blog is named “My happy ending”, but also “Chloe & Jimmy”, and those two are the characters (pseudonyms, of course). So Jimmy left a comment on my blog for the first time!!!

Okay, maybe you don’t understand my excitement. Jimmy hates blogs. Jimmy finds them a waste of time.  And something stupid. But I love my blogs (I have some others, in Spanish). And I love reading other people’s blogs. I love meeting people whose ideas, opinions and interests are very similar or close to mine, I love discovering special things about foreign cultures, their cultures. And I love learning new words and idioms in English. Jimmy doesn’t share this  view. And he has never supported my blogs…

… Until this week.

I was having lunch with him and I confessed I was thinking of quitting this blog, My Happy Ending. I was expecting his face would light up and he would launch some ironic/sarcastic comment. To my surprise, he looked at me with eyes as big as saucers and asked “Why???!!!“. “Well, it takes me a lot of time, since I write in English, and now nobody is reading it… it’s a load of  crap. It’s worth nothing…” I said sadly. I felt a lump in my throat… And then he said “I’ll read your blog, I promise! It’s a good blog and I DO like what you write!“. His words cheered me up, but honestly I didn’t take him seriously…

And now… hey! it’s true! he’s been the only one who has been reading my blog, and he even left a comment!!!

I suppose he deserves a big THANK YOU, Jimmy!! I’ll keep writing, I promise. I love you!!

AAAAAAMUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! (it’s our interjection for a big “smack!” -in Spanish the interjection for a kiss is “muack” and we changed it into “amuaa”… we love making up new words!)

XOXO
