7 Differences

Many people say you’ll find love when you find someone just like you. Someone who likes the same things as you, has the same hobbies, someone who has the same goal in life. Sorry, but I don’t agree.

I don’t think love has to do with opinions, goals, or whatever. Love is a feeling (now it’s when scientifics kill me, and say love is a chemical reaction… okay, okay…), and therefore love has to be with feelings. If you feel happy when you are with that person, if you feel special when you are with that person, if you feel safe and confident with that person, and most important, if you LOVE that person, then you have found love. It doesn’t matter if he/she has different opinions of yours, it doesn’t matter if he/she (but mostly “he”) loves football and you don’t. What it matters is that he/she will be there for you. He/she will listen and take care of you. Always. And THAT’s true love (of course both of you have to share some basic points of view: killing is bad, being a terrorist is bad… you know, the typical things).

So, I’m fed up of people thinking Jimmy and I love the same things and share the same points of view. We don’t. We love each other. We take care of each other. We enjoy being together. But we are different. Fortunately, we both think killing is bad, and fortunately, neither of us is a terrorist (which is something basic, you know). And we share some dreams and goals. But we are different.

7 things Jimmy and Chloe don’t share:

1) I love peaceful computer games, such as The Sims 3. Jimmy, however, prefers computer games involving guns, martial arts or war.

2) I LOVE movies like Meet the Parents or The Proposal, while Jimmy hates them and enjoys Alien vs. Predator (Ugh!) or Terminator (how can anyone enjoy that?????? Robots, robots, monsters, robots… And I’m afraid of all of them!!! I can’t watch a movie if I’m hiding behind my Doritos bag!).

3) I hate CSI Miami, because I HATE Horatio Caine! And Jimmy LOVES it! and LOVES him! (I prefer Ghost Whisperer…)

4) I’m very impatient. If I want something to happen, I want it NOW. Jimmy, on the contrary, is the most patient person I’ve ever met. And that drives me crazy!!

5) I love blogging, Facebook, Twitter… Jimmy finds them a waste of time. That’s why I’m still waiting for a guest post written by Jimmy…

6) I love taking photos, GOOD photos!! And Jimmy gets bored when I bring my camera with me and start taking pictures of everything. Maybe I have Japanese ancestors!

7) Jimmy loves sport, mainly soccer… I fall asleep when we he’s watching a soccer game.

And so on.

But despite all this, I LOVE Jimmy. I LOVE Jimmy sooo much! And maybe our differences make our life more interesting 🙂

Unless there’s a soccer game…

My in-laws

Although Jimmy and I aren’t married (yet), I know his parents as my in-laws. And I thought I should introduce them to you, since they are an important part of my life. And Jimmy’s life, of course. I spend a lot of time at their house. I work there as a private teacher two days a week. I teach English, French and Spanish to their little neighbours. And then I have lunch with them on Sundays. So they are already my family. Even though there aren’t any legal bonds yet.

Well, let’s start. First of all, a picture.

Jimmy and his parents

Jimmy and his parents

Oops. My father-in-law is going to kill me. I better upload a better picture…

I think here he is better

I think he is better in this picture

As you can see my mother-in-law just LOVES me. She loves everyone, I think. But she loves me as her daughter. I’m very lucky. Our relationship is great. I really love her. Not as my mother, of course. But she has all my love and support. She is gossip, as my mother. But apart from that, she is quite different. And she is quite different to her husband. My father-in-law {who is quite different from me…  but we try to forget our differences}. She loves cooking {she is a great cook!! I love everything she cooks}. He’s indifferent. She loves classic music. He loves popular songs. She plays the piano {she’s a piano teacher}. He used to play the guitar. She loves foreign languages. He hates them. She loves France, Paris and French. He hates everything related to French or France.  He loves England. She loves dogs. He loves cats. She loves her sisters. He is an only child. She loves soccer. He hates it.  She’s always laughing. He’s a serious man. And I could go on… As you can see they are quite different!! But they love each other. And it’s cute. It’s cute and sweet seeing how much they love each other. They’re still in love after so many years of marriage. I admire them. I’ve learned a lot from them. I wish Jimmy and I had half the love my in-laws have when we are their age. They are just the best example to follow for young couples. I’m so happy for them!!

Answering your questions

Thanks for your comments! I’ll be answering your questions in the same order as you wrote them.

What has been your favourite trip you’ve ever taken? Where do you want to go most right now? .- Camille {Archives of Our Lives}

My favourite trip. Humm. I think my best trip was when I stayed for almost a month in France. I loved it. I REALLY loved it. I stayed in Paris, living with a French family. It was like a dream {for those who are as romantic as I am}.

The Eiffel Tower (La Tour Eiffel), the Seine, the Louvre Museum, the Quartier Latin, the Basilica of Sacré Coeur, Notre Dame Cathedral, L’Arch du Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, Place de Vendôme…

… And the older SON of the French family. Oh. My. God. I remember I thought he was the best French monument {I hope Jimmy doesn’t read that!}. One of the greatest moment of this trip was when I saw him walking naked toward the bathroom {I was in a state of shock}. But… Je suis désolée. I’m sorry! I don’t have pictures of him!!! It’s a pity…

And right now… I want to go to the USA. That’s my dream. Seriously. I’ve heard so many things, I’ve studied American History, I’ve seen so many things in pictures… Now I want to see them with my own eyes. So maybe in the near future…

Now Ratalie’s turn {EverybodyNose}:

How old were you when you got your first kiss?
Who was it?
How’d it happen?

How did you and Jimmy meet?
What’s something funny about the two of you?
Does he have an random quirks that drive you crazy? That you love?
Do you have any?

Wow! I like so many questions! 😀

Believe or not, I got my first kiss when I was 4. I wanted some fries, and a friend of mine was eating fries. I wanted HIS fries. So he said if I wanted his fries, I would have to kiss him. He thought I was a coward. Ha!! I wanted HIS fries, no matter what. So “smack”. I kissed him. And then I said: “Give me your fries”. And he did, with a flushed red face and his mouth wide open. Too embarrasing, I know. But when I was a kid, I would have done ANYTHING for some fries. And I did.

Jimmy and I met on a bus. On my way home, after one of my first days in college. He sat next to me. And we started to talk. It was like we were old friends. We had a great time on that bus. And some months later we made it official.

Something funny?? Humm. When he asked me out, and being his girlfriend, I lol. Then I said yes, but before I bursted out laughing. I was so nervous… I think it was my own way to relax. Does it answer your question?

Jimmy’s quirks? I don’t think it’s a quirk, but I love his smile. And I love when he mimics famous people. Or when he puts this face:

If Jimmy puts this face, something wrong happens...

If Jimmy puts this face, something wrong happens...

ME?? I think I’m ADORABLE when I shout “GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY FOOD!!!”, if someone steals my food… Or worst: my fries!

And now Maureen {A chronicle of my world travels}:

How did you decide to become a translator? What is your favorite language that you have learned and why?

Also, what made you decide to get a ferret and how long have you had him? Ferrets are not really common pets here, as far as I know. Do many people have them in Spain?

Okay. I didn’t decide to become a translator, to be honest. I wanted to study English. I loved, I love and I’ll love English. I don’t know why. My parents wanted me to study sciences. And as foreign language, French. So I did the opposite. I wanted to be an English teacher. But my father persuaded me to study Translation. He said it had more jobs opportunities. Humm. I think I’ll end up as an English teacher, anyway.

My favourite language is English. But I also love French. Can’t explain why they are my favourite. I don’t know the answer. Sorry!

Ferrets: In Spain they aren’t really common either. Every time I go for a walk with Stitch, everyone asks me what kind of animal it is. They don’t even know what it is!! Can you imagine? I decided to buy a ferret, because of my parents. I wanted a pet. My parents and my brother have a pet: a cockatiel. And I hate it. I found it unfair. I wanted a pet too. I wanted a dog, but they said NO. But they said I could have a small animal, which lives in a cage. I had a horrible experience with a killer rabbit when I was 10. So that wasn’t an option. And my mother hates hamster or guinea pigs. So I said “a ferret!”. And I have him since last december!

Today was a good day because…

1) Stitch woke me up licking my hand. 🙂

2) I had enough time to see Jimmy! 😀

3) I heard the best radio program ever! LOL

4) I had pizza for dinner!!!! Yum!

5) It was hot and sunny! 34ºC (93ºF)!! 😉

And that’s all for now!! I promise I’ll write a better post tomorrow… 😉

My Jimmy

Yesterday I didn’t feel very inspired and I said party pooper to Jimmy too many times. Poor Jimmy!

Now I feel guilty. Because I wasn’t fair. Jimmy is the best guy I’ve ever met {that’s why I’m with him!}. And what he deserves is a tribute post.

Who’s Jimmy? Here you’ll find some information about him that it will make you love him too.

Name: Jimmy. Age: 26. From: Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Jimmy is that kind of guy who loves being with you and all he wants is to make you happy. He is so generous. If we are at home, he will try to make my bed, help me with Stitch, or watch Ghost Whisperer with me {not because he likes the series; he finds it too sentimental, but he watches G.W. with me because I like it. So sweet!}. If we are out, he will go shopping with me {and he hates it!}, he will wait {no complaining} until I’ve seen all the pets for sale in the nearest pet store…

Jimmy is the only person I know who really listens to me. He listens PATIENTLY. I write “PATIENTLY” in capitals, because I know I can be a real pain in the neck. So PATIENCE is the key in our relationship. Thanks God he is so patient. Otherwise, he would divorce me, before being married!

He is so good. So PATIENT. He never has bad intentions. I really feel lucky for having met him. He loves just the way I am. What if I’m small, or can’t pronouce “yo” {Spanish word for I or me} as Argentinian people do, or I swim like a dog, or I run like a duck, or laugh so loud every neighbour hears me, or call him Stitch {my ferret’s name} by mistake, or I’m a real disaster when it comes to cooking? What if I’m not wearing make-up and my hair is greasy, and I’m deadly sick? He always finds me perfect! PERFECT! Can you just believe it?! {And he says he loves the meals I cook…} BRAVO! I love him so much!

So, my sweet Jimmy, for all these things, for being always by my side, for being as perfect as you are: Thank you. I’m very grateful to you for sharing everything with me and making me so happy.

See? I’m so tedious! Never stop talking {in this case, writing}. PATIENCE.

Love you Jimmy! {I promise this is the end of the post}

My creation

If I were a housewife, I would be the worst. I can’t cook (… only a few recipes), iron, or sew. My mother hasn’t taught me {… and to be honest, I’ve not shown much interest either}. But I was surprised this weekend. I discovered I can sew. Well, sort of.

This Saturday I was inspired. I bought some remnants of felt. Felt of different colours. They weren’t very cheap, by the way. Green, red, orange, black and white. Enough for the moment. I was inspired. I had an idea. I wanted to make a felt bookmark. I don’t have any good bookmark. When I read a book, I use any piece of paper to mark the page. And I don’t like that. I wanted to have a cute bookmark. A different bookmark. MY bookmark. So I made it.

Here you have my creation! {If you are to leave a criticism about how bad it is sewn, please think this is my first time sewing… I beg for mercy.}

My bookmark

My bookmark

Even though it is not the perfect bookmark. I’m pretty proud of myself… Thanks to Jimmy. 🙂 He is wonderful. I really love him. I’ll always remember his words while we were walking today: “I really like your bookmark. You’re good at it. You should be more self-confident, because you’re a good person and you are good at lots of things.  I love you. I believe in you. Because you’re worth it. You’re worth a lot. More than you think. You had made a great bookmark. And this is just your first time sewing!” I love you Jimmy {I know you know that, but I’ll never stop saying it}. Thanks for your sweet and kind words. YOU are perfect. 🙂

So if my bookmark doesn’t have many fans, it has at least one admirer. 🙂 And that’s enough for me.

I hope you had a good weekend! {Mine was just perfect!}

Thank you my love

It is in days like this when I need you the most, and there you are. Always. With a big smile, and a warm hug. And even if it lasts just a few seconds, it makes me happy for the rest of the day. So thank you, Jimmy, for being always with me, no matter what.

Today wasn’t my day, and I was very depressed. Besides, I couldn’t use my car, because my father needed it. So I had to run around 2 Km. (1.24 miles) to give my lessons and another 2 Km to come home. And running. With more than 23ºC (74ºF), the sun in my face, and running, because I had to give more lessons, but now in MY house. I arrived late. Of course. Because today was NOT definitely my day. And when I have a bad day, it’s REALLY bad. Anything turns out well. And besides, I worked till 9 pm. 😦 But I found some energy when I saw Jimmy just for 20 minutes. 20 minutes next to me, while I was running home to be on time for the next class. He managed to make me smile and forget all my problems. We were together just 20 min, but they were the happiest 20 min of the day!

So for making me feel better, for reminding me to look on the bright side, for being always with me (even when I’m unbearable… *cough* quite often *cough*), for giving me that special hugs when I need them the most, for listening to me… for being just the way you are: THANK YOU, Jim. I’ll always love you.

Always with you
